Stefan Borret studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent and holds a Master degree in Sculpture.
His search for indirect light from spherical structures led by chance to variations of regular polyhedrons like ‘Twinkling’ and ‘Adiva’.
‘Since I couldn’t find a suitable translucent material for building prototypes, I started painting transparent sheets of polypropylene. After many experiments I reached a vibrant light diffusion with remarkable light efficiency.’
Light efficiency of the diffuser means energy efficiency for the light source.
